“How joyful to be together, alone
as when we first were joined...
... except that now we know

each other, as we did not then;
and now instead of two stories fumbling
to meet, we belong to one story
that the two, joining, made. And now

we touch each other with the tenderness
of mortals, who know themselves”

  6. Oh wow this is so amazing. And such tenderness between the two of them. You have captured it beautifully. It is so sad that their habitat is being destroyed and that all is left is for them to have a soulless existence in Zoos. But maybe things will change...we can but hope.

  7. Incredibly beautiful words and your painting is so powerful yet so gentle. I love it.
    I actually watched a video clip of a baby elephant encountering mud for the first time and it was amazing to see the whole herd come together to help him.
    Thanks for sharing your stunning post. Happy PPF to you

  12. You work us wonderful! Elephants are soulful animals and you've made them perfectly paired! You would enjoy a class at Cheap Joes up in Boone! Joe Miller is a great encourager! Look at their web site and class offerings. I will go back in 2018 for another Leslie Fehling class. Such fun!

  13. That skin on the pair is so real that I want to touch and then rub on Noxema or olive oil to relieve those wrinkles. So real, such talent you have. All your elephants are so beautiful, so touching. Even their eyes speak.

    Thank you for virtual friendship, and your prayers across the miles.
